Scientific day of ecological and social transition
In the framework of the exchange day between experimental sciences and human and social sciences on March 22, 2024, the CUMIN programme presented its approach.
Week of Transitions
Last March from the 18th to the 22nd, the University of Lille held its first edition of the “Week of Transitions”. A week that highlighted how the University of Lille is involved in many fields of knowledge (from biology to electrotechnics) aiming to support the environmental transition. Various initiatives (walks, crafts, presentations, demonstrations…) were put in place by a wide range of actors (laboratories, associations, students…etc) to showcase their work. Our CUMIN program being focused on lowering GHG emissions of the University commuting trips, we got to participate. For this occasion, we allowed students, and U-lille staff to try, not only a fully electric car, but also different light-weight electric vehicles. Bikes and scooters were given to try in exchange for answers to a questionnaire (greatly helping our research in the SARA project namely). Two special sessions were also held on the 21st where anyone in the audience could ask specialists (Teacher-Researchers, Engineers) their questions on electromobility. The 2024 Week of Transitions was a good opportunity for us to collect data (with more that 90 participants in our trials), but more importantly, to spread information and awareness on electromobility and all stakes revolving around it.
Launch of the Inspirons Demain Laboratory (LID)

CUMIN presentation at the House of Sustainable Mobility at the City Hall of Lille
The CUMIN team, represented by Ayoub Aroua (currently a postdoctoral fellow and former Ph.D. student within the CUMIN-STeVE project) and Lucie Juncker (design engineer specializing in Social Acceptability of Sustainable Mobility and E-mobility Awareness within the CUMIN-SARA project), have participated on January 24th in an event hosted by the House of Sustainable Mobility at the City Hall of Lille (Maison de la mobilité durable de la mairie de Lille).
The event started with a comprehensive tour of the House of Sustainable Mobility, providing attendees with a thorough understanding of its activities. Subsequently, the CUMIN representatives delivered an insightful presentation outlining the history, objectives, partners, ongoing projects, and outcomes of the different research programs. This was followed by an in-depth exploration of a case study focused on the intersection of e-mobility, urban planning, and infrastructure issues.
The presentation was followed by a stimulating Q&A session, engaging in discussions with numerous students from the Master's degree program in Public Economics and Management. Topics ranged from the life cycle analysis of electric vehicles, infrastructure challenges, etc. to potential solutions and the future shape of electric mobility.
The event concluded with a convivial reception, with the House of Sustainable Mobility generously providing attendees with a bike kit, symbolizing their commitment to promoting zero-emissions transportation solutions.

The white paper of this citizen debate can be found here.
Final event of the European PANDA Project:
Date: May 24th and 25th, 2022 (hybrid mode)
Project summary:
The PANDA project aims to develop a unified organisation of digital models for seamless integration in virtual and real testing of all types of electrified vehicles and their components. It increases reliability, makes development and test of new components and subsystems easier, and will enable a reduction of time-to-market by 20%.
The V-model, currently used in industry to develop more efficient products from the development axis to the validation axis, is rearranged into a W-model in order to highlight the trend in “virtual homologation”. This rearrangement is underpinned by a cloud of models and a dedicated innovative library, both developed in the project. In addition, stand-alone and cloud computing will be realized first for virtual testing of 3 reference vehicles (a Battery Electric, a Fuel Cell and a Hybrid Vehicle), and for real testing using “Hardware-In-the-Loop” (HiL) for electrical subsystem of the hybrid electric vehicle.

Webinar - New Urban Mobility: Electro-mobility and university campuses as testbeds
19 May 2021
Webinars on New Urban Mobility: The Office for Science and Technology of the French Embassy at United States of America has organized this webinar on New Urban Mobility to share the experience of US and French teams on the topic, strengthen existing collaborations, and initiate new ones. Redefining urban mobility is at a critical strategy for reducing its environmental footprint while enabling mobility access. This mobility transition will harness the benefits of new technologies such as vehicle electrification, transport digitalisation, etc.
